Music in North Cumbria is a partnership between organisations promoting concerts and recitals by professional musicians in the area surrounding Carlisle, Cockermouth, Keswick and Penrith. The scope of the partnership concerns promoting in a broad sense what is often referred to as classical music and jazz. Thus members of the partnership are also those involved in music education at schools and colleges, together with local authorities, and those supporting concert promoters. The partnership came into being in April 2007 at the suggestion of the Music Officer for the North West from the Arts Council of England.
This web site has four sections:
1 - a list of the partnership members, with links to their own web-sites, where you will find fuller details of the organisations, and also details of any concerts and recitals that they may be promoting.

3 - a list of other organisations which promote concerts or recitals as part of their activities (e.g. arts societies).
4 - a list of dates of concerts or recitals with the name of the organisation promoting the event. For details you will have to refer to the link to the organisation concerned in sections 1 & 2.
